Tisha Campbell-Martin (* 13. October 1968 in Oklahoma City , Oklahoma as Tisha Michelle Campbell ) is an American actress .

Life

Campbell grew up in Newark in the US state of New Jersey on. She made her debut as a child in the fantasy short film The Magnificent Major from 1977. From 1987 to 1988 she was in the television series Rags To Riches , which ran on German television under the title Full House , for the first time in a major role. She played 16-year-old Marva , one of five orphan girls adopted by millionaire Nick Foley .

In the comedy School Daze , she starred on the side of Laurence Fishburne and Giancarlo Esposito . For her role in the Comedy House Party , Campbell was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award in 1991 . From 1992 to 1996 she played on the side of Martin Lawrence in the television series Martin , for which she was nominated for the Image Award in 1996 and 1997 . She ended her involvement on charges of sexual harassment against Lawrence.

From 2001 to 2005 Campbell starred in the television series What's Up, Dad? , also directed one of the episodes. In 2003 she won the Image Award in the category Best Actress in a Series - Comedy , for which she was also nominated in 2002, 2004 and 2005. In 2004 she won the BET Comedy Award ; as a director she was nominated for the same award in 2005.

Campbell has been married to actor and entrepreneur Duane Martin since 1996 . They have two sons (* 2001 and 2009) and live in Los Angeles . In 2018, the couple filed for divorce.
