Titular diocese of Hieropolis
Hieropolis ( Italian : Geropoli ) is a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .
It goes back to an earlier diocese of the ancient Hierapolis (today's Koçhisar in Turkey ) in the Phrygia region of Asia Minor (late ancient Roman province Phrygia Salutaris ) in the west of today's Turkey. The diocese belonged to the ecclesiastical province of Sinnada .
The titular is not to be confused with a bishop's seat in located also in Phrygia Hierapolis in the late ancient province of Phrygia Pacatiana declining Titularbistum Hierapolis in Phrygia .
