Kidnapping the Nervesäu is an American television comedy in which the then five-year-old Olsen twins play the leading roles. Bob Saget and Lori Loughlin , who are closely linked to the Olsen Twins' career start, appear in small supporting roles towards the end of the film.

action

Rhonda Thompson is a single parent who feels overwhelmed with raising children and working. Especially since their twin girls Sarah and Julie are not exactly unproblematic. She confesses her everyday frustration to her friend Stacy, which the two girls overhear. So the girls decide to give their mother a break by secretly moving in with their grandmother for the Christmas holidays.

On the way there they meet the postman Eddie, who, without hesitation, takes care of the care and informs Rhonda by phone about the whereabouts of the kiddies. When he leaves the girls alone in the post bus for a moment, however, thieves seize the chance and steal the vehicle and the human occupants. The goal of the criminal couple Harvey and Shirley is to monetize the many Christmas presents that are allegedly in the packages. (Christmas is just around the corner.) But now that they discover the two girls in the back of the car, they change their plan. As a rule, parents are willing to pay substantial sums of money for their children in ransom. They kidnap the two of them, gain their trust through loving care and the promise to bring the girls to their grandmother. Unnoticed by the girls, Shirley calls for a $ 10,000 ransom from Rhonda Thompson in a phone call.

Together with Eddie, she goes to the handover location, a Christmas market outside of town. The kidnapper had asked them not to turn on the police. The twins are now enjoying themselves with Harvey at the Christmas market. The fun comes to an abrupt end when Harvey gossips. The girls get very angry when they hear that Harvey will never take them to Grandma. In anger, they hijack Santa's carriage, who receives wishes at the Christmas market. The harnessed horses go through because Eddie discovers the girls just then and jumps in front of the team to stop them. Eddie skilfully jumps on a horse, which he steals from the pony carousel without further ado, and follows the speeding carriage. Eddie can only stop the vehicle shortly before a vertical slope.

On the way back, Eddie and the girls stop in front of a cabin in the woods. Grandma Mimi suddenly emerges and greets the girls warmly. Rhonda also arrives a few minutes later, happy to see her daughters safe and sound. But then two police officers disrupt unity. Eddie and Rhonda are arrested. They had opened the Christmas packages from Eddie's truck that Shirley and Harvey had left behind and sold the goods to collect the extorted ransom. Selling stolen goods is a criminal offense in and of itself. Fortunately, the purified Harvey defused the situation by surrendering - to Shirley's annoyance. So Eddie, Rhonda, Julie and Sarah can celebrate Christmas together.
