Lori Anne Loughlin (born July 28, 1964 in Queens , New York City ) is an American actress .

Life

Lori Loughlin grew up in Hauppauge, Long Island . Her career as a photo model began at the age of eleven. During her early youth, her picture appeared in numerous advertising catalogs and brochures. She has also been hired for television commercials.

From 1989 to 1996 Loughlin was married to Michael Burns. On November 25, 1997 she married the designer Mossimo Giannulli. The couple have two daughters.

In 1980 she got the role of Emmeline in The Blue Lagoon . She later resigned from this, and the role went to Brooke Shields . That same year, Loughlin got the role of 18-year-old Jody Travis in the ABC soap opera The Edge of the Night , which she played until 1983. This was followed by cinema and feature films such as the horror film Amityville III . Loughlin's best-known role is Rebecca Donaldson in the family series Full House , in which she appeared from 1988 until the end of the sitcom in 1995.

Loughlin has already played alongside Jim Carrey , Meg Ryan and Keanu Reeves . From 2004 to 2005 she had her own television series, Summerland Beach , on the US broadcaster The WB . She played the lead role and was also the scriptwriter and producer of the series. The series is about Ava, an aunt of three children whose parents were killed in a car accident. In 2006, she shot an ABC comedy with Greg Germann called In Case of Emergency . From 2008 to 2011, she starred in the television series 90210 , a spin-off from Beverly Hills, 90210 .

Lori Loughlin is one of the suspects in March 2019 in the bribery scandal for admissions to US universities , an investigation by the American federal agency FBI . Due to her involvement in the case, Loughlin lost several roles in ongoing television series and film series in March 2019. In April 2019, Lori Loughlin and her husband decided not to plead guilty. In August 2020, Lori Loughlin and her husband were sentenced to two and five months in prison, a fine of $ 400,000, and 100 and 200 community hours, respectively, of fraud.
