Death of Mary (La Martyre)
The Death of Mary window in the Catholic parish church of St-Salomon in La Martyre , a French parish in the Finistère department in Brittany , was created in the third quarter of the 16th century.
The four-part window in the choir comes from an unknown workshop. In the main scene (below) it depicts the death of Mary , surrounded by the twelve apostles. Above it, the Last Judgment can be seen, the scene was created in 1562.
The window was restored and supplemented in 1990. The modern coats of arms of the municipality, the department and the Ministry of Culture, which contributed to the restoration, are attached to the tracery .
In addition to the Death of Mary window , there are three other windows from the Renaissance period in the church (see navigation bar).
