Passion Window (La Roche-Maurice)
The Passion Window in the Catholic Church of St-Yves in La Roche-Maurice , a French commune in the Finistère department in the Brittany region , was created in 1539. The stained glass window was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 1898 as Monument historique .
description
The central window in the choir was created by Laurent Le Sodec. It shows 15 scenes from Jesus' ordeal .
In the tracery are 14 arms, most of the family Rohan to see.
The window was restored by Louis-François Bodolec in 1715 and by Mathieu Rosuel, both from Brest , in 1849 . During the restoration in 1849, it was found that the scene of Jesus in front of Pilate was missing. In 1937 the window was restored by the Gruber workshop . In 1942 the window was removed to protect against war damage and restored and reinstalled by Atelier Labouret in 1950.
