Childhood window of Jesus in Confort-Meilars

The Childhood of Jesus window in the Notre-Dame Catholic Church in Confort-Meilars , a French parish in the Finistère department in Brittany , was created in 1554. The leaded glass window was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 1906 as Monument historique .

The window in the choir shows two scenes from Jesus' childhood : Jesus among the scribes (below) and the Holy Family in Joseph's workshop (above). The depiction of Mary surrounded by angels is influenced by a drawing by Albrecht Dürer . The part with Josef was partially renewed. The scene in the tracery with Maria at the loom comes from another window.

The year 1554 and the inscription "JEAN FLOCH FAB (RIQUE)" (created by Jean Floch) can be seen on the lower edge.

In addition to the Childhood of Jesus window , the root Jesse window from the Renaissance period is still preserved in the church.
