Martyrdom window of St. Lawrence in Plonévez-du-Faou

The Martyrdom window of St. Lawrence in the St-Herbot Catholic Chapel in Plonévez-du-Faou , a French commune in the Finistère department in Brittany , was created in 1556 (the year is written on the window below). The leaded glass window was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 1906 as Monument historique .

The window in the choir is from an unknown workshop. It shows the martyrdom of St. Lawrence . He is shown at the stake . To the left of him there are three torturers and to the right the tyrant can be seen with his court. Above the saint, the dove symbolizes the Holy Spirit . In the newer tracery , five angels can be seen with ribbon.

The window was restored and supplemented in 1886 by Eugène Hucher and his son Ferdinand in the stained glass workshop of the Carmelite Sisters of Le Mans .

In addition to the Martyrdom window of St. Lawrence, there are two other windows from the Renaissance period in the chapel (see navigation bar).
