The Mensch und Maschine Software SE also MuM called, a provider of is software specializing in computer-aided design / manufacturing (CAD / CAM). The business field is divided into two segments: M + M software - standard software for CAM , BIM and CAE as well as system house - customer-specific digitization solutions, training and consulting for customers from industry , construction and infrastructure .

The annual turnover in 2019 was 245.94 million euros. Mensch und Maschine employs 946 people at over 60 international locations. The M + M share is listed in Frankfurt ( scale30 ) and Munich ( m: access ).

history

The company was founded in 1984 by Adi Drotleff (* 1953). In 1997 M + M debuted as the eighth company at the time on the Neuer Markt .

AutoCAD , introduced in 1982, was discussed and presented by M + M as early as 1985 in the company's own M + M magazine.

In 2002 M + M took over the CAM specialist Open Mind AG as well as the majority in Dataflor AG, which develops software for gardening and landscaping .

In January 2019, M + M took over the software manufacturer Sofistik, which specializes in the calculation, dimensioning and construction of construction projects.

M + M achieves around two thirds of its added value in the industrial sector, e.g. B. Mechanical engineering , vehicle / aircraft / shipbuilding , mold and tool construction , process engineering , hydraulics , pneumatics , electrical engineering or industrial design .

Construction

A third comes from the construction industry , e.g. B. Architecture , building services , civil engineering , bridge / tunnel construction , civil engineering , infrastructure , property management or gardening and landscaping . There are also a number of cross-departmental solutions, e.g. B. Digital factory , PDM / PLM, simulation, plant construction or visualization / animation.

Software development

In 2018, the software segment generated sales of 55.7 million euros with CAD / CAM, BIM and CAE software.

System house

The system house offers digitization solutions for customer-specific requirements, training and service. According to the company, Mensch und Maschine is the largest Autodesk sales partner in Europe.

Customers in this area include Deutsche Bahn , Miele , Stadtwerke Bad Homburg and BLS AG .

Seminars

With BIM Ready, M + M offers courses for employees involved in BIM projects. Technical draftsmen, executing planners and BIM beginners complete the BIM construction training. The content of the training is modeling rules, data exchange via the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) and the effects of BIM in practice. Mensch und Maschine is one of the official training companies that teaches the exchange format for BIM data exchange in the construction industry defined by the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) in seminars. Mensch und Maschine is a member of the BuildingSMART association .

Open Mind AG

The subsidiary Open Mind AG specializes in CAD / CAM solutions with its hypermill software . The hypermill and hypercad-S solutions are used for milling, drilling and turning in various areas, such as machine, tool and mold construction, the automotive, aerospace industry, but also in medical technology, toy, Jewelry and watch industries used.

SOFiSTiK AG

SOFiSTiK AG produces statics and reinforcement software for bridges, tunnels and building construction; the projects include the BMW World in Munich . The SOFiSTiK Bridge Modeler enables bridges to be designed and calculated in 3D and parametrically as required by the BVMI .

DATAflor AG

DATAflor develops software for gardening and landscaping, landscape architects, earthworks and civil engineering. DATAflor was founded in 1982. The software comprises the graphic planning part, the complete commercial calculation and billing. With the software z. B. virtual garden worlds in different seasonal flowering phases.

MuM Mechatronik GmbH

MuM Mechatronik GmbH licensed back the electrical engineering planning software Escad from Autodesk in 2015. From this, M + M developed the successor eXs, which is used in CAE project planning for the industrial trades electrical engineering, process engineering, hydraulics and pneumatics as well as for building technology in the context of BIM projects.
