Tom Egberink (born December 22, 1992 in Hardenberg ) is a Dutch wheelchair tennis player .

Career

Tom Egberink, who was born with only one leg, started wheelchair tennis at the age of eleven and started in the paraplegic class .

He took in 2012 in London at the Paralympic Games in part. In the singles, he was eliminated in the second round against Stéphane Houdet in two sets, while he reached the quarter-finals in doubles alongside Maikel Scheffers . They were defeated by Stefan Olsson and Peter Vikström in two sentences.

At the Wheelchair Tennis Masters he achieved his first greatest success in doubles. In 2011 he reached the final of the doubles competition for the first time with Michaël Jeremiasz , which they won in straight sets against Robin Ammerlaan and Stéphane Houdet. The following year, he and Jeremiasz also won the Grand Slam tournament at Wimbledon .

In the world rankings he achieved his best placements with ninth place in singles on January 19, 2015 and fifth place in doubles on July 9, 2012.
