Thomas Scully (also Tom Scully ; born January 14, 1990 ) is a New Zealand track and road cyclist.
Athletic career
Thomas Scully won the gold medal in scratch and team pursuit as well as the bronze medal in the points race at the Oceania Championship in the junior class in 2007 . In 2009 he was New Zealand champion in two-man team driving (Madison) together with Shane Archbold . At the Track Cycling World Cup 2009/10 he won the Madison and the Scratch in Melbourne , and in Beijing he was third in the points race, in the team pursuit and in the Madison. In 2009 he became Oceania Champion with Jesse Sergent at Madison, two years later he won gold twice in this competition. In 2010 Scully became the national scratch champion. At the UCI track world championships in 2014 he was runner-up in the points race and won the race at the Commonwealth Games in the same discipline .
On the road, Thomas Scully was New Zealand's 2006 individual time trial champion in the youth class. The following year he won the bronze medal in the junior class road race at the Oceania Championship in Invercargill . From 2013 Scully drove more street races. This year he decided the prologue of the Tour de Normandie for himself and one stage each of the Boucles de la Mayenne (2016) and the Route du Sud (2017). In 2019 he finished third in the national road championship.
