Thomas R. "Tommy" Dewey (born August 3, 1978 in Birmingham , Alabama ) is an American actor , producer and screenwriter .

life and career

Tommy Dewey was born in Birmingham, Alabama , USA . He attended Mountain Brook High School . After leaving school, he studied at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs of Princeton University and moved to the final, first to New York. In 2002 he spent a summer at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

In 2004 he made his first television appearance in an episode of the series Hello Holly . Then he was able to book the recurring role of Michael Dowling in the series The Mountain for the next year . Since then he has appeared regularly as a guest star on series including Grey's Anatomy , Criminal Minds , Mad Men , CSI: Miami , Melissa & Joey , Major Crimes , It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia , Intelligence , Hot in Cleveland , Royal Pains and Lass es, Larry ! . His appearances in films include On the Doll or 17 Again - Back to High School .

In 2010 he produced his first own television series entitled Sons of Tucson , for which he also appeared as a screenwriter. The series was discontinued after only 13 episodes. From 2012 to 2016 he appeared as Josh Daniels in the series The Mindy Project . In 2013 he was to be cast in the lead role of Warner Whittemore for the sitcom Dads . In the end, however, the role went to Giovanni Ribisi . From 2015 to 2018 he played a leading role as Alex Cole on the series Casual . In 2016, he was in the first two seasons of Code Black as Dr. Mike Leighton starred in a supporting role.
