Tommy Green
Tommy Green (actually Thomas William Green ; born March 30, 1894 in Fareham , Hampshire , † March 29, 1975 in Eastleigh , Hampshire) was a British walker and Olympic champion .
At the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , the 50 km competition was held for the first time . Green, who had become British champion at this distance in 1930, won this competition in 4:50:10 h before the European champion from 1934 Jānis Daliņš from Latvia, who became European champion in 1934, and the three-time Olympic champion in 1920 and 1924 Ugo Frigerio , the In 1920 and 1924 he became Olympic champion on shorter distances.
