Thomas Edward McCarthy (born April 12, 1893 in St. Peter’s , Nova Scotia , † December 28, 1959 in Sacramento , California , USA ) was a Canadian ice hockey player who played 35 games for Quebec during his active career between 1914 and 1923 Bulldogs and Hamilton Tigers in the National Hockey League on the position of right winger .

Career

McCarthy first made a name for himself in the New York City area , where he played for the New York Irish-Americans, Brooklyn Crescents and New York Wanderers in the amateur field between 1914 and 1918. He then moved back to his native Canada , where he was active for the Hamilton Tigers in the Ontario Hockey Association . With the team he won the Allan Cup in 1919 .

Then the winger switched to the professional field and ran from February 1920 for the Quebec Bulldogs in the National Hockey League . In twelve games in the 1919/20 season, he scored 18 points scorer . Prior to the 1920/21 season , the Quebec Bulldogs franchise was relocated to Hamilton and renamed Hamilton Tigers . McCarthy remained loyal to the team and went on the ice for the team in another 23 games in which he scored eleven times.

After the season, the attacker left the NHL and joined the Saskatoon Crescents from the Western Canada Hockey League , who moved to Moose Jaw during the 1921/22 season . McCarthy spent his last game year in the 1922/23 season with the Seattle Metropolitans in the Pacific Coast Hockey Association .

McCarthy died on December 28, 1959 at the age of 66 in Sacramento , California, USA .
