Tom Nolan (actor)

Tom Nolan (born January 15, 1948 in Montreal , Québec ; actually Bernard Girouard ) is a Canadian - American actor , journalist and former child actor . In this capacity he appeared from 1955 to 1958 under the name Butch Bernard . He later changed his stage name to Tommy Nolan . He appeared in many western television series in the 1960s.

Life

Nolan is of Irish and French origins. In 1953 the family moved to Los Angeles , California . He took dance lessons and a little later began to take on his first television roles. Until 1958 he was called Butch Bernard, later Tommy Nolan. He gained wide national fame through his role as Jody O'Connell in the television series Buckskin , which he embodied in a total of 39 episodes from 1958 to 1959. From 1966 he began working as a freelance journalist under the name Tom Nolan for magazines such as the Los Angeles Times , Cheetah , eye or Rolling Stone . From 1969 he decided to work full-time as a journalist.

He began working as an extra in films in the early 1950s . In the next few years, casts in films and series that can be assigned to the genre of romance and westerns followed . From the 1960s, films from the war film genre were also added, such as a supporting role in Sturm auf Höhe 404 in 1967 . From the 1970s, his film presence decreased noticeably due to his profession as a journalist. Since the mid-1980s, he can be seen at irregular intervals in film and television series. From 1989 to 1991 he played the role of Mick in the sitcom My father is an alien in a total of 18 episodes.
