Torsten Spohn

Torsten Spohn (* 1966 in East Berlin ) is a German actor , theater director and acting teacher.

Life

Torsten Spohn received his artistic training from 1985 to 1989 at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . Stations of his stage career were among others the German Theater in Berlin, the Uckermärkische Bühnen Schwedt , the Kleist Theater in Frankfurt (Oder), the Potsdamer Hans Otto Theater , the theaters in Bielefeld and Magdeburg , the Berlin Theater an der Parkaue and the State Theater in Nuremberg , where he also worked as a director.

Spohn's distinctive roles were Karl Moor in Friedrich Schiller 's first drama Die Räuber (he played this role in Nuremberg and Frankfurt (Oder)), Siegfried in the Nibelungen by Friedrich Hebbel , Ferdinand in Schiller's Kabale und Liebe , Jago in Othello by William Shakespeare and the title character in Prince Friedrich von Homburg or the Battle of Fehrbellin by Heinrich von Kleist . In 2012 he played the debt servant at the Berliner Jedermann Festival under the direction of Brigitte Grothum . Other well-known directors with whom Spohn worked were Leander Haußmann , Hansjörg Utzerath and Heiner Müller .

In 1989, Spohn made his debut in front of the camera in an episode from the crime series Polizeiruf 110 . Since then he has appeared again and again mainly as a guest actor in well-known television series.

In addition to his work as an actor, Torsten Spohn teaches the subjects “scene work” and “role studies” at the drama school “Der Kreis” . He lives in Berlin.
