Triumph Tiger 955i

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tiger 955i is a motorcycle model from the English motorcycle brand Triumph Motorcycles . The model is generally referred to as a large enduro or travel enduro .

Model history

The first modern Tiger models, internal model code T 400, were built almost unchanged from 1993 to 1998. In 1999 a completely new design, the T 709, came onto the market. The modified engine of the Speed Triple from the same manufacturer, with 885 cubic centimeters and 62 kW (85 PS), served as the drive.

Years 2001-2004

The model with the internal designation 709 EN was launched in 2001. The Tiger received the also in-house Daytona engine with a displacement of 955 cubic centimeters and now 72 kW (98 hp). The third generation of the current Tiger series retained the look of the predecessor model 709, but was improved by some technical details (e.g. tighter fork).

Years of construction 2005-2006

In 2005 the series was given a technical and visual facelift. The chassis has been tuned even tighter, the spring travel shortened and the chassis geometry revised. The most noticeable difference was the switch to light alloy cast wheels with tubeless tires, the now silver frame and a new rear swing arm without an eccentric .
