The Triumph Thruxton / Thruxton R is a bare motorcycle from the English motorcycle manufacturer Triumph Motorcycles . The Thruxton / Thruxton R was presented on October 28, 2015 after four years of development. The final assembly of the Thruxton / Thruxton R is carried out in Chonburi , Thailand . The sales name Thruxton / Thruxton R refers to the race track of the same name in Great Britain.

Conception

The basis for the Thruxton / Thruxton R is the Bonneville T120 and the Thruxton 900. It takes some of the design elements of the Bonneville from 1959 and combines them with the technical possibilities from 2015. With various “inspiration kits”, up to 600 accessories can be added to customize the motorcycle to be ordered by Triumph.

The Thruxton / Thruxton R is powered by a 1200 cm³, liquid-cooled, transversely installed in-line twin cylinder with eight valves. The motor has a crank pin offset of 270 degrees. The mixture forms an electronic injection system disguised as an Amal carburetor. For the first time, a ride-by-wire system with an anti-hopping clutch , traction control, various driving modes and a six-speed transmission is offered in the Classic segment .

Frame and chassis

The double loop pipe frame consists of a steel tube. The 17 ″ front wheel is decelerated by a double brake disc system with ABS .

The R version has its own frame (caster 92 instead of standard 90.8mm) and has a fully adjustable upside-down fork from Showa with 120 mm travel, Öhlins rear suspension with 120 mm travel and radially mounted Brembo 4-piston monoblock -Brake calipers and brake master cylinders.

The Thruxton is available in the colors Jet Black, Pure White and Competition Green. The Thruxton R is delivered in the colors Silver Ice, Diablo Red and Matt Black.
