U-20 African Cup of Nations 2009 / qualification

The qualification for the U-20 African Cup of Nations 2009 was held to determine the seven finalists alongside hosts Rwanda . The games took place between April 18 and October 13, 2008.

The registered teams determined the seven final round participants in three qualifying rounds in the knockout system with home and return legs. In the event of a tie, the away goal rule decided on progress. If there was also a tie, a penalty shoot- out was carried out without extra time .

The first legs were played between April 18 and 20, the second legs between May 2 and 4, 2008.
