UGCA 86 is an irregular dwarf galaxy in the Maffei group and lies in the constellation of the giraffe . Within the Maffei group, she belongs to the subgroup IC 342 there.

The galaxy is located approximately in a distance of 8 million light years from our solar system and has an apparent magnitude of 13.5 m . It moves away from the Earth at about 67 k m / s .
