Ubuntu ( English Ubuntu Local Municipality ) is a local municipality in the Pixley Ka Seme district of the South African province of Northern Cape . The local government is located in Victoria West . Mayor is Moira Rigard.
The community name is an isiXhosa (and isiZulu ) word meaning 'humanity'. The name was chosen to describe the main mission of the community, which is to serve the public in a humane and kind manner.

In 2011 the community had 18,601 inhabitants. 69.8% of these were colored , 21.3% black and 7.6% white. 81.4% Afrikaans, 12.3% isiXhosa and 1.8% English were spoken.
