Uhlerborn is a district of Ingelheim am Rhein in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate . As a former part of the local community Heidesheim am Rhein , the district is assigned to the local district Heidesheim. Uhlerborn has about 1300 inhabitants who live in 500 households.

Uhlerborn borders the city of Mainz ( Finthen district ) and the municipality of Budenheim , both of which are separated from Uhlerborn by the Lennebergwald .
The city centers of Mainz and Wiesbaden are each approx. 15 km (10 km as the crow flies). Eltville is directly opposite on the other side of the Rhine, but is not directly accessible.
Between Uhlerborn and the Rhine there are a few small lakes on a large, partially fortified campsite.
Local development
On August 31, 1902, the Uhlerborn station on the left bank of the Rhine began to exist , initially as a block and train sequence point.
There was a US Army housing estate in the 1980s and 1990s . As part of a conversion project, these houses were renovated and adapted to the German building technology standard. The military installations have been removed. Numerous single-family and semi-detached houses as well as an all-day kindergarten with crèche have since been built in Neu-Uhlerborn and in the Uhlerborn residential park.
The American origins of the residential park reflect the above-average participation of the residents in Halloween as well as the very elaborate Christmas lighting of several houses.
There has been a shopping center since 2000. There is another business in Budenheimer Weg.
Uhlerborn belonged, as the largest district, to the local community of Heidesheim am Rhein. On July 1, 2019, the local community of Heidesheim am Rhein merged with Ingelheim am Rhein, so that Uhlerborn became a district of Ingelheim am Rhein.

Uhlerborn station is served by the Middle Rhine Railway of the Trans Regio . The journey time to Mainz Hbf is approx. 10 minutes. The so-called "Alt-Uhlerborn", mainly consisting of the street of the same name, leads down to the train station.
The Heidesheim exit of the A60 is directly adjacent to Uhlerborn.
The ORN bus line 620 serves Uhlerborn, primarily as a school bus.
