Ulfried Haselsteiner
Ulfried Haselsteiner (* 1970 in Lienz ) is an Austrian opera singer ( tenor ).
Life
Haselsteiner made his debut at the Prague State Opera in 1999 as Max in Carl Maria von Weber's opera Der Freischütz .
Before that he studied singing with Boris Bakow at the music university “ Mozarteum ” in Salzburg and graduated from the opera class in 1999 as “Hoffmann” in Jacques Offenbach's Tales of Hoffmann with distinction.
In the same year he received the Hanna Ludwig Prize for the best singing and acting as "Hoffmann" and "Alviano" ( Schreker : Die Gezeichen ).
In 2000 he went on a tour ( Die Zauberflöte , Die Fledermaus ) to Japan , with performances in the metropolises of the island state, including Osaka , Nagoya , Sendai and Tokyo .
In 2001 he played the role of "Da-ud" in Richard Strauss ' opera Die ägyptische Helena at the Teatro lirico di Cagliari ( Sardinia ) in the Italian premiere . This also resulted in a complete CD recording (label: DYNAMIC)
In the following years he gave guest appearances at numerous European opera houses, including the Deutsche Oper Berlin , the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma , the Teatro Massimo (Palermo) , the Grand Théâtre de Genève , the Theater an der Wien and the Teatro Regio di Torino , as well as at the Salzburg Festival .
His repertoire mainly includes tenor roles in the German lyrical-dramatic intermediate subject such as “Max” in Weber's Freischütz , “Hans” in Bedřich Smetana's The Bartered Bride , or “ Tamino ” in Mozart's Magic Flute, but also contemporary roles. So he sang B. Ludovico in the world premiere of Michael Jarrell's opera Galilei at the Grand Theater du Genéve.
Haselsteiner has been a member of the classic men's quartet cantoSonor since 2012.
