Uli Schiffelholz

Uli Schiffelholz (* around 1979) is a German jazz musician ( drums , composition ).

Live and act

Schiffelholz, who grew up in Marktoberdorf , played early in jazz bands with his older brother, the bassist Hansjörg Schiffelholz. With his trio, which in addition to the two brothers consisted of the saxophonist Oliver Schütz, he released the album Homelands in 2000 . Then he studied drums at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim ; He then completed postgraduate studies at the Cologne University of Music and Dance with Michael Küttner and Keith Copeland .

He moved to Offenbach and worked with Wilson de Oliveira , Tom Schlueter , Heinz Sauer , Peter Reiter , Christoph Sänger , Rudi Engel and Jürgen Wuchner ; with Valentín Garvie , Bob Degen and Ralf Cetto he was part of the collaborative quartet Community . He has also been leading his own quintet since 2009. He has also been a member of the hr jazz ensemble since summer 2010 . He can also be heard on albums by Thomas Bachmann, Barbara Bürkle , Marijke Geschäftsling , Valentín Garvie and Jason Schneider.

In 2011 he was awarded the Frankfurt am Main jazz scholarship.
