Jean-Yves Jung

Jean-Yves Jung (* 1969 in France) is a French jazz musician ( organ , piano , composition).

Act

As a musician, Jung is self-taught . He played concerts in the evenings in order to finance his physics studies at the university until he made the step to professional musician after graduating in 1992. In Paris he studied composition and took piano lessons from Bojan Zulfikarpašić . In addition to international appearances with the quartet of Biréli Lagrène , he was involved in recordings and tours with Billy Cobham's Higher Ground . He continued to work with Philip Catherine , André Ceccarelli , Sylvain Luc , Bobby Martinez, Dee Dee Bridgewater , Manu Pekar, Tony Lakatos , theParis Jazz Big Band , Howard Alden , Steve Ellington , Jimmy Woode , Keith Copeland , Nat Reeves , Christian Escoudé and Maxime Bender . He performed at international festivals such as Rome, Bergen, Nice and Paris. He plays in the Organic Trio with guitarist Brian Seeger and drummer Paul Wiltgen ( Home Remembered 2013). He can also be heard on albums by Marcel Loeffler , Susan Weinert , Nicole Metzger , Uli Schiffelholz , Valentín Garvie and Pierre Bertrand .
