The Indian national cricket team's tour to South Africa in the 2017/18 season took place from January 5 to February 24, 2018. The international cricket tour was part of the 2017/18 international cricket season and included three tests , six ODIs and three Twenty20s . South Africa won the Test Series 2–1, India won the ODI Series 5–1 and the Twenty20 Series 2–1.

prehistory

India previously played a tour against Sri Lanka , South Africa a test series against Zimbabwe . Originally it was planned that Sri Lanka perceive the tour to South Africa at this time, but this was refused by the South African Association for financial reasons. Due to Sri Lanka's tour to India, which lasted until December 24th, India could not contest the originally planned Boxing Day Test. Instead, it was played against Zimbabwe. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in India in the 2015/16 season .
