Ulrich Huber (born March 23, 1936 in Kiel ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

Huber's father was Ernst Rudolf Huber , the leading constitutional law teacher in Nazi Germany , his mother Tula Huber-Simons worked as a lawyer, and the former regional bishop Wolfgang Huber is one of his four brothers. From 1942 to 1944 he attended elementary school in Strasbourg, which was occupied by the German Reich . When Alsace was liberated in 1944, the family fled to Falkau in the Black Forest, and from 1949 they lived in Freiburg im Breisgau . Huber attended Birklehof boarding school from 1946 , where he graduated from high school in 1954.

Huber studied law in Freiburg im Breisgau , Munich and Heidelberg and worked during the semester break in the Freiburg law firm Plum, Fettweis, Huber-Simons, which is run by three lawyers. From 1958 he was a research assistant at Rolf Serick . Huber passed the second state examination in law in 1962. From 1962 to 1968 he was a research assistant at Heidelberg University. He received his doctorate in 1963 and completed his habilitation in 1968 in civil, commercial and business law in Heidelberg. Huber went to the Saarland University in 1971 and became a full professor for commercial and business law at the University of Bonn in 1973 . There he became co-director of the Institute for Commercial and Business Law and the Center for European Business Law.
