Ulrich Lampert

Ulrich Lampert (born October 12, 1865 in Chur , † September 2, 1947 in Freiburg im Üechtland ; legal resident in Fläsch ) was a Swiss legal scholar .

Life

The son of a shoemaker attended the Protestant city school in Chur. Under the influence of the Chur cathedral capitular Franz Josef Kind, Lampert's whole family gradually converted from the Reformed to the Catholic faith. Ulrich Lampert attended grammar school in Engelberg , Schwyz and Monza . He studied theology at the Borromäum in Milan and law at the universities of Turin , Freiburg im Breisgau , Innsbruck and Würzburg . From 1890 to 1893 he worked as a court clerk in Wil. Until 1898 he was an editor at newspapers in Eastern Switzerland.

Lampert received his doctorate in Würzburg in 1895. From 1898 to 1942 he was professor of church , state and international law at the University of Friborg (Switzerland). He was dean of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Social Sciences four times and rector in 1907/08 . His successor at the chair was Eugen Isele in 1943 .

Lampert was an ardent anti-liberal . He also wrote numerous legal opinions . Lampert was a co-founder of the Freiburger Nachrichten (also a member of the board of directors ) in 1904 and co-founder of the university association AV Fryburgia in 1918. He was a member of the advisory committee of the Codex Iuris Canonici from 1917. In 1909 he was appointed Commendatore of the Order of Gregory .
