Uncilin (also Uncelin, Latin Uncelenus ), (* in the 6th century; † 613 ) was an Alemannic duke from 587 to 607 .

587 sat the Austrasian King Childebert II. The Alemanni Duke Leutfred I. , and certain Uncelen his successor.

After Childebert II's death in 595, Thurgau , Kembsgau and Alsace went to Burgundy and Uncilin under the Franco-Burgundian sovereignty of King Theuderich II.

In 605 Theuderich II fought against his brother Theudebert II , but his army opposed the order to fight. Theuderich II commissioned the Burgundian caretaker Protadius to move the army to fight, but the army also defied his order and arrested Protadius. Probably in the same year (or 606) Uncilin received the same order from Theuderich II. Uncilin, however, reinterpreted the order and had Protadius murdered by the army.

In revenge for the murder of Protadius, Queen Brunichilde had Uncilin cut off one foot in 607, which made him incapable of office as a duke. According to the Lex Alamannorum , the Alamannic law book, a duke was only competent if he could mount a horse himself.
