Priarius
Priarius († 378 near Oedenburg near Biesheim ) was the Gau king of the Lentiens , an Alemannic sub-tribe. His name comes down to us from the Roman writer Ammianus Marcellinus .
Priarius and his army were defeated and killed by troops of the Roman Emperor Gratian on a campaign in Alsace in the battle of Argentovaria , today's Oedenburg-Biesheim near Neuf-Brisach . No further information has been passed on about the life of Priarius.
