Unicode block Unified CJK ideograms, extension D

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Unicode block Unified CJK Ideograms, Extension D (English: CJK Unified Ideographs Extension D ) deals with the coding of 222 Chinese characters from the East Asian font group CJK (Chinese-Japanese-Korean) .

It is a Unicode block in the Unicode standard that was introduced in version 6.0. The terms "Ideographs" in the original or "Ideograms" in the translation are misleading, as the scripts represented are strictly speaking not conceptual scripts (see ideography ).

The characters concerned were selected in 2009 by the Ideographic Rapporteur Group (IRG).
