Unicode block Gothic

The Unicode block Gothic (Gothic, 10330 to 1034F) contains the letters of the Gothic script developed by Wulfila in the fourth century for the Gothic translation of the New Testament , which is based on the Greek alphabet , but also borrows from the Germanic runes .

This font should not be confused with the Fraktur , which is sometimes also referred to as "Gothic" (and especially in English as "Gothic") , which is simply a special type of the Latin alphabet . Indeed, Unicode contains some Fraktur letters in the block of letter-like symbols (U + 212D, U + 210C, U + 2111, U + 211C and U + 2128) as well as several more in the block mathematical alphanumeric symbols (from U + 1D504 to U + 1D537) , however, these are only intended for mathematical use and should not be used for any other purpose.

If, on the other hand, East Asian literature on typography speaks of “Gothic” or “Gothic”, then this does not mean this font either, but the sans serif sentence of the Latin alphabet.
