The Union Sovereign is an approximately 67 meter long sea rescue tug of the type UT 719-T designed by Rolls-Royce Ulstein.

history

The ship was built in 2003 as the Anglian Sovereign for the British company Klyne Tugs based in Lowestoft . As for the sister ship Anglian Princess , the building yard was the Chinese Yantai Raffles Shipyard. The ship, which operated under the flag of the United Kingdom, was stationed in the port of Lerwick and served as an emergency tug for the sea area of ​​the Orkneys and Shetlands .

In 2012 the ship was sold to Smit Internationale and brought under the flag of the Bahamas .

Technology and equipment

The ship is of two 16-cylinder Diesel engines of the type Wärtsilä 32 with a power of 12,000  kW driven, the gearbox via two in fixed Kort nozzles current pitch propeller act. The ship also has two electrically operated transverse thruster systems in the bow (588 kW each) and another in the stern (660 kW).
