The Universidad Anáhuac México (UA) is a privately funded Mexican university to which various universities at home and abroad belong to the so-called Red de Universidades Anáhuac .
history
Founder and first director in 1964 was Marcial Maciel . In order to improve the human and social conditions for women and men in Mexico, he founded the Universidad Anáhuac as part of the educational project of the Legionaries of Christ , the Christian association that he also founded and which is also the sponsor of the university.
"Anáhuac" comes from the Aztec language Nahuatl and roughly means "near the water". The first university of the alliance was named Universidad Anáhuac because of its location in the area of the mountain hills Lomas Anáhuac des Interlomas of Mexico City . The universities of the network abroad do not bear the name.
The motto of the University of Vince in bono malum is derived from Noli vinci a malo, sed vince in bono malum ( Romans 12:21), in German: Do not allow yourself to be overcome (defeated) by evil, but overcome evil through good.

The Catholic Red de Universidades Anáhuac ( German : Network of Universities Anáhuac ) is part of the Consorcio Educativo Anáhuac (CEA), the international education system of the Legionaries of Christ, with which the association is active in several countries.
