Esperstedt is a district of the municipality Obhausen in the Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).

history

In a resulting 881 to 899 directory of the tenth day of the monastery Hersfeld ( Hersfeld tithe directory ) Esperstedt is a tenth-requiring location Osperestat in Fries field first mentioned. Around 900 the village belonged to the castle ward district Schraplau in what was then Hosgau . 1200 the rule is owned by the Archdiocese of Magdeburg . The name is derived from the word aspens - poplars - poplar place.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Kuckenburg was incorporated.

From 2005 to 2009 Esperstedt belonged to the administrative community Weida-Land . Until it was incorporated into Obhausen on January 1, 2010, Esperstedt was an independent municipality with the associated Kuckenburg district that was incorporated on July 1, 1950 . The last mayor of Esperstedt was Erich Pohl.

The exit (20) of the federal motorway 38 Göttingen - Leipzig is at the exit of Esperstedt. This was completed in December 2008.

From 1884 to 2003 the place had a train station on the Röblingen am See – Vitzenburg railway line .
