Untereusulza is a part of the community Großheringen in the district of Weimarer Land in Thuringia .
location
Untereusulza is located on the western edge of Großheringen and is only a few meters from the outskirts of Bad Sulza . The Ilm flows through the valley and the railway line runs from Halle , Leipzig to Weimar , Erfurt and further through the valley.
history
The village of Untereusulza was created through the extraction of salt in the Ilm Valley. The first saltworks was built in 1863 . It is assumed that Untereusulza was built as a follow-up building. The Neusulza saltworks belonged as an exclave to the Wettin office of Camburg , which was under the sovereignty of various Ernestine duchies due to several divisions during its existence . In 1826 the area came as part of the Camburg exclave from the Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg to the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen .
On July 1, 1950, Unterneusulza was incorporated into Großheringen.
