Ursula War
Ursula Frida Erna Auguste Krieg (born October 10, 1900 in Berlin ; † October 11, 1984 there ) was a German actress and voice actress .
Life
After attending the Lyceum, Ursula Krieg took acting lessons from Ludwig Hartau in Berlin. She made her stage debut in 1920 as Chrysothemis in Hugo von Hofmannsthal's Elektra in 1920 at the New Volkstheater Berlin . Other stages were Meiningen, Bonn, Königsberg, Hamburg, Erfurt and again Berlin ( Hebbel Theater , Renaissance Theater, Schiller Theater ).
In 1937 Ursula Krieg made her feature film debut alongside René Deltgen in Herbert Maisch's drama Starke Herzen . She played in the Heinz Rühmann comedy The detours of beautiful Karl , alongside Freddy Quinn in Freddy Under Strange Stars , directed by Wolfgang Staudte in the post-war drama The Murderers Are Among Us and in the comedy The Strange Adventures of Mr Fridolin B. (with Axel von Ambesser in the title role), directed by Wolfgang Schleif in ... and if there was only one '... (based on Kurt Weyrauch ), directed by Falk Harnack in Weiß gives up and directed by Alfred Weidenmann in the war drama Stern von Africa about the fighter pilot Hans-Joachim Marseille (played by Joachim Hansen ). In addition, Ursula Krieg played guest roles in numerous television series such as Direktion City .
In addition, she has been working extensively in dubbing since 1948 and has dubbed internationally known actresses such as Lillian Gish (including Die Nacht des Jäger , Die Stunden der Komödianten ), Elsa Lanchester ( Captain Blackbeard's Spuk-Kaschemme ), Mildred Natwick (a. Daisy Miller , Der Teufelshauptmann and Der Hofnarr ), Thelma Ritter ( Das Fenster zum Hof ), Ellen Corby in the family series The Waltons , and Marion Lorne in the fantasy sitcom In Love with a Witch . She was best known to a wide audience as the voice actress for the British character actress Margaret Rutherford , who she has performed in four appearances as Miss Marple ( The Wax Bouquet , Murderer Ahoy ! , Four Women and One Murder , The Murders of Mr ABC ) and in The Countess from Hong Kong lent her voice.
Ursula Krieg was married to the art critic Albert Buesche . She died one day after her 84th birthday in her hometown of Berlin.
