tourism

The place is surrounded by many Inca sites (including Ollantaytambo in the northwest, 21 km away and Písac in the southwest, 32 km away) and is therefore a stopover for many tourists on the way to the ruins of Machu Picchu. Urubamba itself offers various leisure facilities and accommodations in various, sometimes upscale, categories for tourism.
