history

Surname

The street was named after the Waller district of Utbremen , whose name means outside of Bremen. The Utbremer Ring led to this district, which is said to have been a field mark since 1072. In 1848 the Feldmark was incorporated.
The traffic planning of the construction director Alexander Schröder in the 1860 / 70s envisaged a ring road ( Schröderring ) around the core of the city, to which the Waller Ring , the Utbremer Ring, the Schwachhauser Ring and the Kirchbachstraße belonged.

development

In 1875 Findorff had around 2500 inhabitants. The older residential areas between Torfhafen (from around 1826) and Utbremer Ring were built between 1907 and the 1960s. The district Weidedamm originally consisted largely of allotment gardens.

The Utbremer Ring is part of a road ring that construction director Alexander Schröder designed in the 1860s / 70s as part of a city and traffic plan for the suburbs of Bremen. The so-called Schröder-Ring ( Waller Ring , Utbremer Ring, Schwachhauser Ring, Kirchbachstraße) was realized, except for one street through the Bürgerpark.

In the first half of the 20th century until 1939, residential buildings were built to the west from Hemmstraße to Utbremer Ring.

During the Second World War , some houses in the western area were destroyed by bombs. After the war, urban development between Leipziger Straße and Utbremer Ring (Weidedamm I) was structured in the relaxed style typical of the 1950s. The residential areas Weidedamm I to III were built in three sections by 1999.

traffic

The Kleinbahn Bremen – Tarmstedt , popularly known as Jan Reiners , was a railway line that ran from 1900 to 1956 from the Bremen Parkbahnhof via Bremen Hemmstraße station via Lilienthal to Tarmstedt , crossing the Utbremer Ring.

In transport in Bremen , the bus lines here 25 (Weidedamm-South - Osterholz ) and down Convicted street, the line 26 ( Walle - Huckelriede ). Lines 27 (Weidedamm-Nord - Huckelriede) and 28 (Walle - Findorff - Wiener Str. - Universität -Nord) cross the Ring at Hemmstrasse.
