Uwe Conradt (born March 31, 1977 in Saarbrücken ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He is the elected Lord Mayor of Saarbrücken and has been in office since October 1, 2019. Since 2016 he has been director of the Saarland State Media Authority .

Conradt attended the primary school Saarbrücken-Scheidt, the Marienschule Saarbrücken, the Snider Highschool in Fort Wayne and the economics high school in Saarbrücken . Then he did basic military service. He studied business administration with the final degree in business administration at the University of Saarland . From 2000 to 2003 he was a fellow of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation . In 2010 a further education course in media law followed at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz , which was carried out in cooperation with the Mainz Media Institute and was completed in 2012 with a Master of Laws. Conradt has been working professionally since 1998, initially self-employed in the areas of consulting, IT and Internet, later as administrative director of the Saarland State Media Authority and as authorized signatory of Saarland Medien GmbH and Saarland Film GmbH.

Conradt joined the Junge Union at the end of 1990 . From 1994 to 1997 he was both local chairman of the JU in Saarbrücken-Scheidt and chairman of the student union Saarbrücken-Stadt. Then he was the deputy federal chairman of the student union. For the Junge Union he was the district chairman of Saarbrücken-Stadt, a member of the state executive board and deputy chairman until 2009. For the CDU he has been a member of the board of directors in the Dudweiler district since 1994 (currently as treasurer), chairman of the Scheidt local association since 1999 and deputy district chairman since 2009. In 2012 he was elected to the district board of CDA Saarbrücken-Stadt.

Conradt was a member of the district council in Dudweiler from 1999 to 2004, and has been a member of the Saarbrücken city council since 2009. In August 2012, he replaced the retired Peter Jacoby in the state parliament, to which he was a member until April 2016.

In the Mayor election in Saarbrücken on May 26, 2019, he reached 29.0 percent in the first ballot and was thus behind the incumbent Charlotte Britz . He won the runoff election on June 9th with 50.3 percent and has been Lord Mayor since October 1st, 2019.
