Uwe Hiksch (born July 12, 1964 in Coburg ) is a German politician ( Die Linke , formerly SPD ). From 1994 to 2002 he was a member of the German Bundestag .

Life

After secondary school , Hiksch completed vocational training as an industrial clerk . Then he visited Berufsaufbauschule and vocational high school and began studying economics .

In 1982, Hiksch joined the SPD , where he held several offices, including with the Jusos . In the 1994 federal election he was elected to the Bundestag via the SPD's Bavarian state list . From 1989 to 1999 he was a member of the state board of the BayernSPD . He was a member of the presidium of the Bavarian SPD for eight years. In the 1998 federal election he won as a direct candidate for the SPD in constituency 224 (Coburg) with 47.8 percent.

On September 28, 1999 he resigned from the SPD and the SPD parliamentary group and was a non-attached member of parliament until October 4, 1999 . Hiksch said he could only be in a party that was left and not the center . With effect from October 5, 1999, Hiksch became a member of the PDS parliamentary group. This made him next to Eva Bulling-Schröter the second Bavarian member of the Bundestag for the PDS. Hiksch was also a member of the committee for the affairs of the European Union and European policy spokesman for the PDS parliamentary group. Until 2002 he was a member of the German Bundestag . From 2002 to 2003 he was PDS Federal Managing Director. Due to differences in content, there was a break with the PDS and the transfer to the newly founded WASG party . There he was active in the Rixdorf initiative , which represented the minority wing in the WASG Berlin and advocated support for the Linkspartei.PDS -Berlin in the House of Representatives election.

Since 1998 he has been a member of the national board of the Friends of Nature in Germany, and since May 2010 he has been Deputy Chairman of the Friends of Nature Berlin .

Hiksch was the office manager of the Bundestag member Annette Groth (Die Linke).

Since 2007 he has been a member of the Die Linke party. Hiksch is one of the spokesmen for the Marxist Forum , spokesman for the state working group Europe Die Linke. Berlin and one of the spokesmen for the nationwide working group on European integration of the party Die Linke. He was nominated for the 2009 Bundestag election by the Die Linke party as a direct candidate for the Coburg constituency and received 6.6 percent of the first votes.

Hiksch has worked for many years in the environmental movement , peace movement and the anti-nuclear movement .

In 2015 he played a key role as a speaker and organizer in the anti- TTIP demonstration on October 10th in Berlin. In 2018 he held the big rally with 50,000 participants in the Hambach Forest for an alliance of environmental associations and the climate protection movement and in 2019 the demonstration "#ausstieg: Get out of the combustion engine - traffic turnaround now!" registered against the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt.
