Uwe Kolbe (film producer)

Uwe Kolbe (* 1966 in Juist ) is a German film producer and partner in the Desert Film GmbH .

Life

After completing a law degree and traineeship with the 2nd state examination in law, Kolbe started working at Desert Film as a legal advisor in 1999 . In the first years he accompanied the productions of the desert film in Hamburg and those of its sister companies in Cologne and Berlin as legal advisor and production manager (legal & business affairs), including films by Fatih Akın such as Im Juli and Gegen die Wand . In addition to his work for Desert Film, he also advised other producers and creatives in the film industry.

In 2008 Uwe Kolbe joined the company Desert Film GmbH as a producer and partner. Since then he has worked there as a producer alongside Björn Vosgerau, Ralph Schwingel and Stefan Schubert for cinema and television films, including the NDR-Tatort with Wotan Wilke Möhring , formerly Petra Schmidt-Schaller and now Franziska Weisz in the leading roles. He is a member of the German Film Academy .
