occupation

Everything you say is a TV movie from the crime series Tatort . The report produced by NDR was broadcast on April 22, 2018 on Das Erste . It is the 1056th episode in the series and the tenth case of Chief Detective Thorsten Falke .

action

Thorsten Falke and Julia Grosz are investigating the Syrian refugee Abbas Khaled as a suspected war criminal. This makes exemplary efforts to integrate in Lüneburg, but evades personal verification. In the event of an access that Falke and Grosz had prepared alone and now want to carry out, they have to find that the Lüneburg police, who are supposed to support the LKA investigators, are also at the access location, but have not been informed by them. Accordingly, the operation does not go smoothly and the fugitive escapes, but his sister is fatally injured by a shot. A shot was fired from Falke's weapon and Joachim Rehberg, head of the Lüneburg police station, accused Falke of being responsible for the woman's death. In the internal police questioning by Rehberg, there are contradictions between the statements of Falke and Grosz. Both describe the process of access from their own point of view and Rehberg subliminally tries to incite Grosz against her colleague. Rehberg feels very superior to the two and has no idea that Falke and Grosz only intend to convict him with their “play”. Already during their search for the fugitive Khaled, the LKA investigators noticed that there must have been a leak with the police, which ultimately led to the botched access. With all the mess, the local police hadn't noticed that Khaled had not fled at all, but that Falke had brought him to safety, since the shot that hit his sister was clearly aimed at him. Immediately after evading the identity check, Khaled went to Ibrahim Al-Shabaan, the head of a Lebanese drug clan, who had "bought" the police in Lüneburg for years, for help. There he witnessed Joachim Rehberg apparently accepting money from Al-Shabaan. So that this corruption scandal does not come out, Rehberg had tried to silence Khaled and now wanted to hold Falke responsible for everything. He turns the tables, however, and before Rehberg knows it, he falls into the trap that has been prepared for him, because after he had found out where Khaled is hiding, he informed Al-Shabaan in order to finally get rid of "the problem" . Falke was already waiting for the Lebanese and arrested them. Based on the last call on Al-Shabaan's cell phone, Falke was able to convict Rehberg as the client.

The allegation against Khaled of being a war criminal can be defused by Falke, since his investigations revealed that the Syrian had only worked as a cook for the military militia and had not done so voluntarily. Only by fleeing abroad was he able to evade it and bring himself and his sister to safety.

Reviews

Thomas Gehringer from tittelbach.tv came to the verdict: “'Everything you say' [...] is the fourth and so far best joint case by the NDR duo Thorsten Falke & Julia Grosz. Franziska Weisz finally arrives at the 'crime scene', Wotan Wilke Möhring happily as a disgruntled, jealous colleague under suspicion. The story alternates between flashbacks and chamber play-like interrogations - a clever game of memories and supposed truths that is surprisingly resolved at the end. The classic 'crime scene' mixture of time-sensitive topics (refugees and migration) and exciting crime entertainment works convincingly here. "

stern.de was also very appreciative: “Yes. The crime thriller is exciting, the actors convincing, the dialogues credible and the different versions of the truth of the two investigators are cleverly cut against each other. Also remarkable: Although the film is told with many flashbacks, you never lose the thread. During the interrogations, the commissioners repeatedly give transitions or explain connections - in this sense the crime thriller is a cinematic masterpiece. "

Christian Buß from Spiegel Online assessed: “The 'Tatort' episode 'Alles was Sie haben' has become a fast, smarter, drinkable crime thriller in which one person puts the other on the cross. [...] Director Özgür Yildirim is one of those younger filmmakers who skilfully create large topics as small genre pieces without making his work seem cynical. [...] Yildirim finds coherent images for the fragility of the narrative: He shows the characters through the interrogation camera display, through the grids of industrial plants, through flickering surveillance equipment. "

Alexandra Knief wrote at the Weserkurier : "Despite the bang at the start, the 'Tatort' with the title 'Everything you say' takes a while to get going, but it is definitely worth it."
