Moritz Grove (born 1982 in Hamburg ) is a German film and theater actor . He has been a member of the ensemble of the Deutsches Theater Berlin since 2009 .
life and work
Grove graduated from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in his hometown, but already played in film and television during his studies and took over leading roles in Hamburg's off-theaters: 2005 Platonow in the Zeisehallen , 2006 Snoopy in Die Peanuts in the Kampnagel factory, 2007 Orestes im Malersaal of the Schauspielhaus Hamburg and in 2008 the Parzival in Thalia in Gaußstrasse . Young, wild and unconventional directors such as Julia Hölscher , Cäcilia Drexel and Alex Krebs staged it .
After completing his studies in 2008, Grove was immediately accepted into the ensemble of the Thalia Theater , in which he had already participated in the 2007 world premiere of Andreas Marker's Die Beißfrequenz der Kettenhunde . At the time, it was directed by Stephan Kimmig , with whom Grove would work regularly in the future. At Thalia he also played Rosencrantz in Michael Thalheimer's Hamlet production, Anukami in One of Us (directed by Nuran David Calis ), Idas in Mama Medea (directed by Jorinde Dröse ) and Henri Boulanger in I hired a Contract Killer (Director: Max Claessen ). Grove said goodbye to the Thalia Theater as Jesus in Amygdala , another Kimmig production.
In autumn 2009 Grove moved to the Deutsche Theater Berlin , where he worked again with the directors Dröse (Flynn in Black Animal Sadness , 2010), Kimmig (Chaim in Über Leben , 2011, Polyneikes, Hirte, Wächter in Oedipus Stadt , 2012) and Thalheimer ( Die Nibelungen , 2010, Die Weber , 2011, and stories from the Vienna Woods , 2013) worked together. His debut was a promising Woyzeck , staged by Jorinde Dröse . The actor worked and works with a number of other directors at DT: Sabine Auf der Heyde , Studio Braun , Nurkan Erpulat , Sascha Hawemann , Tom Kühnel , Daniela Löffner , Ulrich Matthes , Andrea Moses , Milan Peschel , Lilja Rupprecht , Rafael Sanchez and Jette Steckel .
In July 2015, the actor made his debut in a Clavigo production by Stephan Kimmig at the Salzburg Festival .
In addition to his theater work, Grove has also been in front of the camera regularly since 2005. He appeared in six movies and was seen in a number of television productions, including the Siegfried Lenz film Der Mann im Strom (director: Nikolaus Stein von Kamienski ).
