occupation

Battleship is a television film from the crime series Tatort . The report produced by NDR was broadcast on November 18, 2018 on Das Erste . It is the 1072nd episode in the series, the eleventh case of Chief Inspector Thorsten Falke and the fifth of Superintendent Julia Grosz .

action

In the middle-class neighborhood of Neugraben , Hamburg , there are repeated burglaries. The frightened citizens have networked using a mobile app, which they use to exchange information and arrange actions. Falke and Grosz are part of a special police commission. But this can do little. The police are always late. If she picks up a suspect, she has to let him go again for lack of evidence.

One night a young man was shot in the act by the owner of a family home while attempting a break-in. The case initially seems to be quite clear: Dieter Kranzbühler acted in self-defense, because the burglar killed has a weapon in his hand. But Commissioner Falke doubts the homeowner's story when he realizes that the burglar was left-handed and the toy gun with which he allegedly threatened the homeowner was in his right hand. In addition, Kranzbühler had shot twice, but the victim only one bullet. Falke and Grosz conclude that there were two intruders and that the accomplice escaped.

During the search for the fugitive burglar, Falke and his colleague find out that it is Maja Kristeva, the victim's girlfriend, and that she was obviously shot. The search for her turns into a real hunt, because Bernd Kranzbühler, the house owner's brother, also wants to find the girl so that she cannot testify that her boyfriend was specifically shot. He cleverly uses the mobile app to get a head start on the police.

After Bernd Kranzbühler actually succeeds in tracking down and kidnapping Maja, he ultimately fails to kill her. Maja takes the opportunity and stabs him with a kitchen knife. The man is bleeding to death before medical help arrives.

reception

Reviews

“Despite the drastic unleashing of middle-class homeowners as angry bourgeois lynch mob, this 'crime scene' gets by for the most part without polemics, it is close to the people, on both sides of the garden fence. [...] Director Samira Radsi [...] staged with a feeling for the breaks in the characters, towards the end the plausibility stumbled a little. "

Audience rating

The first broadcast of Treibjagd on November 18, 2018 was seen by 9.34 million viewers in Germany and achieved a market share of 26.4% for Das Erste .
