Vértessomló (German Schemling ) is a Hungarian municipality in the Tatabánya district (until the end of 2012: Tatabánya small area ) in Komárom-Esztergom County . It is located southwest of Tatabánya . On January 1, 2015, 1303 people lived in the 22.29 km² community. To the east are the ruins of Vitány Castle ("Vitányvár").
