Vamos is the fourth studio album by the German singer, composer and producer Stephan Remmler . It was released in 1993.

Emergence

The album was originally supposed to be released at the end of 1992 under the title BarbarellaMortadellaohneTeller . It was already fully produced and mastered in August 1992 in the MSM Mastering Studio in Munich . On August 25, 1992, the single BittebitteBarbarella was released from this album , on which the album was advertised. The release of the album Trio live in spring '82 , which was re-released at this time, was also announced with a picture of the cover. The unreleased album would have included the following tracks:

A side

  1. Please Barbara 3:40
  2. Little Red Riding Hood come (Hullygullymylove) 4:13
  3. She looked like an angel 3:20
  4. I was always looking for you 3:39
  5. Grandpa Voss 3:46

B side

  1. Oh oh, it would be half as difficult 3:12
  2. Love the life that loves much 3:25
  3. You I'd love to be with you 3:46
  4. Banana boat 3:20
  5. Please Barbara (skirt in the basement) 3:32
  6. (Encore) Now dreams come true 5:00

Remmler revised a handful of the songs, discarded some and recorded three new tracks for the album Vamos . These three new recordings were made together with the musicians of Udo Lindenberg's panic orchestra , who are now essentially Peter Maffay's backing band . Two songs on the album ( Hullygullymylove and Vamos Bananaboat ) belong to the genre Raggamuffin .

Musical description

During the production of Vamos, Remmler placed particular emphasis on the participation of the accompanying musicians in order to make the album sound rocky. In terms of content, Remmler broke away from everyday interpersonal stories. The song Mein Freund ist Neger , for example , about refugees of all skin colors is remarkable . Remmler presented the piece six months before it was released on December 13, 1992 as part of the concert Heute die - morgen du! , in which various German musicians positioned themselves against xenophobia . The song Opa Voss , in which Remmler tells the eventful life of his grandfather Karl Voss, who died on June 30, 1990 at the age of 102, is also unusual .

reception

Neither the album nor the two singles Blank and Bananaboat were able to make it into the German charts . The release of the album was barely noticed in the media, nor was it reviewed. In the course of 1993, individual tracks from the album were played live on television, including the song Bananaboat , which Remmler played live with Die Toten Hosen in May 1993 on the NDR program Up'n Swutsch .

live

In November and December 1993 Remmler undertook his second tour of Germany, on which he presented the album Vamos live. A selection of live recordings appeared in August 1994 on the live album Hüh . The Bayerischer Rundfunk broadcast a complete live concert on November 26, 1993 as part of the program Live from the Schlachthof .
