The Vasco da Gama is a cruise ship that was commissioned as Statendam for Holland-America Line in 1993 and has been in service for Cruise & Maritime Voyages since 2019 .

history

The Statendam was under the yard number 5881 at Fincantieri in Monfalcone built and from on 3 April 1992 stack left. After the takeover by Holland America, the ship was put into service in January 1993.

The ship initially flying the flag of the Bahamas was reflagged to the Netherlands in April 1996 . In 2002 the Statendam was modernized and equipped with new restaurants, lounges and common rooms.

In autumn 2015 the Statendam was sold to P&O Cruises Australia together with the sister ship Ryndam and renamed Pacific Eden . The ship completed its first voyage for the new operator on November 15, 2015 and was officially renamed on November 25, 2015.

In 2018 the ship was sold to Cruise & Maritime Voyages and was handed over in Singapore on April 5, 2019 . Since April it has been called Vasco da Gama and sails under the flag of the Bahamas . Since the summer of 2019, the ship has been used by Transocean Cruises in the summer months in the northern hemisphere in (northern) European waters and in the summer months in the southern hemisphere from Australia.
