The Vereinigte Volksbank eG is a cooperative bank in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Höxter with its headquarters in the city of Brakel .

The United Volksbank is a decentralized cooperative bank. The legal basis is the Cooperative Society Act and the articles of association issued by the Supervisory Board . The organs of the bank are the management board , the supervisory board and the representative assembly.

Creation through fusion

On November 9, 2006, a letter of intent was signed regarding an intended cooperation between the two predecessor institutes.

The bank was created in 2011 through the merger of Volksbank Warburger Land eG with Volksbank Bad Driburg - Brakel - Steinheim eG, which was subsequently renamed.

There was previously confusion about the name: the originally planned name Volksbank in the Höxter eG district had been prohibited by the Bielefeld district court in an injunction at the request of the Volksbank Paderborn-Höxter-Detmold . In their opinion, the planned name was misleading, since the merged bank in the Höxter district does not have a prominent position among the cooperative banks and does not cover the entire district.

On May 23, 2011, the meeting of representatives of Volksbank Warburger Land eG voted with almost 94% in favor of the merger. At the subsequent meeting of representatives of Volksbank Bad Driburg-Brakel-Steinheim eG on May 25, 2011, the representatives present approved the merger with 100% of the votes. The merger and name change were entered in the cooperative register on July 20, 2011.

The business area is in the Höxter district. It covers roughly the entire district with the exception of the towns of Höxter and Beverungen.
