The Verkehrsgesellschaft Belzig mbH (VGB) was the operator of the regional bus transport in the former Belzig district based in Bad Belzig . In addition, the VGB operated most of the bus traffic in the Brandenburg an der Havel area , but excluding the Brandenburg an der Havel city traffic, which is operated by the Brandenburg an der Havel transport company. Since July 10, 2017, the transport company Belzig was transferred to the regiobus Potsdam-Mittelmark .

history

The VGB was founded on May 4, 1993. It emerged from Kraftverkehr Belzig GmbH. In 1994 the construction of the new depot on the Brücker Landstrasse, which was moved into in 1995. With the takeover of twelve regional transport lines from the transport company of the city of Brandenburg / Havel in 1998, 20 buses and 38 employees were added. In 1999 the VGB acted as a founding member of the Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association. In 2004 the computer-aided operations control system (RBL) was put into operation. In 2017 it was integrated into the regiobus Potsdam-Mittelmark.

PlusBus Hoher Fläming

For the timetable change on December 14, 2014, VGB provided the first PlusBus in the Berlin-Brandenburg transport association . The PlusBus is characterized by hourly intervals, evening trips, optimally adapted connections to regional trains and easy transfers between PlusBuses. Lines 553 (Brandenburg - Rietz - Netzen - Lehnin ), 580 (Bad Belzig - Golzow - Lehnin - Werder - Potsdam ) and 581 (Bad Belzig - Golzow - Brandenburg) operate as PlusBus . Line 582 (Bad Belzig - Niemegk - Treuenbrietzen ) has also been running as a PlusBus since January 1, 2017 . The vehicles that run on the routes are modern and individually equipped with WiFi and USB sockets.
